SCC sent a donation to United Indians of All Tribes for $1,000.
On behalf of the Elders Program at United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, we are thrilled that the Senior Care Coalition nominated us for this funding!
Our long-standing Elders Program at United Indians of All Tribes Foundation features exercise classes, inter-tribal lunches, and inter-generational arts and cultural programs for low-income Elders in our community, crucial services that combat loneliness and social isolation while boosting health and wellness outcomes.
Please extend our appreciation to your coalition members.
This Grant will help us alleviate a funding shortfall. During this pandemic, our food preparation and transportation costs have all increased as we shift from home delivery to in-person luncheons at Labateyah and back again, depending on safety concerns and public health guidelines.
As an expression of gratitude, I wanted to share my favorite poem with you by Joy Harjo (Muskogee) who is now in her second term as U.S. Poet Laureate and the first Native American to be appointed to this post. Every time I read it, I am filled with appreciation.
Thanks, again, for the nomination and the award. It means a lot to know that others in the community recognize our programs.
